Vallehermoso has some of the most spectacular viewpoints in La Gomera, from which you can appreciate the diversity of its terrain, vegetation, and the surrounding sea.
Valley Viewpoints
At the Mirador del Almendrillo, located above the town center, you get a perfect panoramic view of the valley and the imposing Roque Cano, symbol of the municipality. On the way to the National Park, the Mirador de Vallehermoso offers another privileged view of the urban area and its agricultural surroundings, ideal for understanding the relationship between nature and rural life.
Igualero and Alto de Garajonay
The Mirador de Igualero, in the upper part of the municipality, overlooks the southern slope and hosts the Monument to the Silbo Gomero, a tribute to the tradition declared Intangible Heritage of Humanity. From there, views reach the southern ravines and, on clear days, the neighboring islands. A few kilometers away is the Mirador del Alto de Garajonay, the highest point of La Gomera, with a 360-degree horizon over the ocean and the laurel forest-covered peaks.
Northern and Coastal Viewpoints
In the north, the Mirador de Roque Blanco opens to the massif that separates Vallehermoso from Agulo, showing the contrasts between the forest, crops, and sea. Also notable are the Mirador de la Punta de Alcalá and the Mirador de Punta de Belete, both located on the coast with excellent views of the shoreline and the cliffs that characterize this area of the island.
Finally, the Mirador de Santa Clara, in Arguamul, offers one of the most impressive views of northwestern La Gomera: the open sea, the cliffs, and the hamlets scattered among the mountains. All these points have signposted access and rest or stopping areas, making the visit an essential panoramic route to discover the geography and character of Vallehermoso.
