Vallehermoso has a network of cultural spaces and facilities that allow you to closely discover the identity of La Gomera.
Interpretation Centers
In Alojera, the Palm Honey Interpretation Center explains the traditional process of extracting guarapo and its transformation into one of the most emblematic products of the island. In El Cercado, the Traditional Pottery Interpretation Center of Las Loceras shows the artisanal work of the potters who, without a wheel and with inherited techniques, keep alive a pre-Hispanic tradition unique to the Canary Islands.
Botanical Garden and Maritime Park
Among the spaces dedicated to nature and botany, the Discovery Botanical Garden stands out, located in the town center. This space combines native vegetation and species brought from different parts of the world, symbolizing the historical connection between the Canary Islands and America after Columbuss voyages. A few kilometers away, the Vallehermoso Maritime Park offers pools and leisure areas open during spring and summer, an ideal place to enjoy the sea in a safe environment with adapted services.
Recreational Areas
The municipality also has extensive recreational areas where nature takes center stage. La Laguna Grande, in the heart of Garajonay National Park, is one of the most visited: it has picnic areas, trails, and a forest environment of great ecological value. Closer to town, the La Encantadora Recreational Area, next to the reservoir of the same name, offers a quiet space to spend the day among pines and laurel forest. Near the coast, the Vallehermoso Beach Recreational Area completes the offering, with rest areas and views of the Atlantic.
Unique Places
Among the most unique corners stand out the Chorros de Epina, a legendary spring where tradition assigns a different meaning to each of its seven spouts, and the Lavaderos de La Vica, in Temocodá, restored as an example of daily life from the past. All these places allow visitors to discover Vallehermoso from different perspectives: cultural, natural, and human, combining history, landscape, and tradition in the same municipality.
